Dina Meyer was born and raised in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island in the last term of junior high. There are two of her siblings: one of whom is older, named Gregory and a younger one called Evan. Modeling was her first job in the industry. She did it from age nine to sixteen. Her acting education began at The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and studied Sanford Meisner's techniques for acting together in conjunction with Ron Stetson, for about three years. Sandra Bullock received similar training as did Michael Douglas and Jeff Goldblum. Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton and Diane Keaton are also among the actors who have received the same type of instruction. Her first role was in Beverly Hills 90210 which forced her to make the move from Beverly Hills to Los Angeles. The role was as the main character in Johnny Mnemonic in which she did almost every stunt her self, establishing herself as a talented actress. Her talent agent was also representing Matt LeBlanc so, through her agent she was able to secure a role in the show Friends.
